Kids can trade their favorite Bandz at Silly Swap Weekend, June 12-13

They're zany, they're crazy and they're just plain silly. They're the coolest collecting phenomenon for kids from kindergarten through high school, and they are so popular that they've been banned from school districts across the nation.

They're the stretchy, colorful, shaped bracelets known by names like Silly Bandz, ZanyBandz and CrazyBandz. Kids can come out to Please Touch Museum on Saturday, June 12 and Sunday, June 13 for the first Silly Swap Weekend, an opportunity to collect and trade bracelets with other kids in the area.

The first 500 kids (ages 12 and under) through the door on Saturday and Sunday receive a free 12-pack of the shaped rubber bracelets, which range in forms from dinosaurs to dragons and pirates to princesses. Some of them glow in the dark, some are tie-dyed, and all are cool! Bring your current collection and add some new favorites at Please Touch Museum.

Kids can make trades during Silly Swap sessions on Saturday at 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. and Sunday at 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. The museum will also celebrate this latest kid collecting fad with a display of several decades' worth of fad toys, including Cabbage Patch Kids, Beanie Babies, Pokémon cards and Pet Rocks.

Please Touch Museum at Memorial Hall, Fairmount Park is open Saturday from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Admission is $15 for adults and children age one and over. Children under one are free. For more information, please call 215-581-3181, or visit www.pleasetouchmuseum.org.
