FEATURED PERFOMERS

MITCHEL MUSSO
Mitchel Musso, 18 years old, hails from Garland, Texas. His big break into show business happened in 2002 when the then 12-year-old Mitchel and his younger brother Marc were cast as the nephews of Michael Caine and Robert Duvall in the movie Secondhand Lions.  Numerous roles in films such as Monster House, as well as voice work on the TV programs King of the Hill and Phineas and Ferb followed. He even landed the star role in Disney's new Comedy Pair of Kings. But Musso is arguably best known for his role as Oliver Oken on Disney Channel’s “Hannah Montana,” and Hannah Montana, The Movie.

Musso is also an accomplished singer and songwriter. Playing piano, guitar and drums, he has performed multiple times on “Hannah Montana,” and his single “Shout It” dominated single & video airplay and landed at the number 1 spot on the Radio Disney Top 30 Chart. In 2009, Musso released his first, self- titled solo album, including a cover of “The In Crowd,” which was also featured on Radio Disney Jams, Vol 11. Musso’s first single "Hey" off the album shot to #8 on the iTunes Pop chart and was his fourth straight track to hit the Top 10 on Radio Disney's Top 30 chart.

Musso was named one of the Top 3 New Teen Artists of 2009 (along with Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber). His song, “Let’s Make This Last 4ever”, which he co-wrote, is included on the “Hannah Montana 3” soundtrack, while his remake of the classic Police hit “Every Little Thing She Does is Magic” was featured on Disney Channel’s “Wizards of Waverly Place” soundtrack.  Musso will tour all summer with brand new music from his second album as well as favorites from his debut album. His highly anticipated second album will be released in the Fall of 2010.

JASON CASTRO
Jason Castro, 22 years old, grew up in a musical family in Rowlett, Texas, just outside of Dallas. Castro started playing drums in the fifth grade and played in bands throughout high school. After graduating, he entered Texas A&M University and bought a guitar because he couldn’t play drums in the dorm. "I couldn’t sing when I picked up the guitar," Castro says. "So I read about singing techniques on the Internet, like how-to articles with breathing exercises, and taught myself."

As one of the cast members of the seventh season of American Idol, Castro won over audiences with a number of memorable performances, including "Over the Rainbow," "Daydream," and "Hallelujah.” Castro was the show’s first-ever contestant to play an instrument onstage, accompanying himself on acoustic guitar and ukulele. He finished as third place runner up on the show. After the season’s conclusion, Castro performed on the hugely successful "American Idols LIVE! Tour 2008." At the conclusion of the tour, he signed with Atlantic Records. His debut, self titled album was released in April 2010 and includes his first single "Let’s Just Fall In Love Again."

JOSIE ANDREWS
A hometown girl from South Jersey, Josie Andrews is a fifteen-year old triple threat with a natural ability to sing, dance, and act ... performing professionally since she was 3 years old. Josie was one of only 4 girls selected nationally out of more than 2,000 children for the National Tour of Oliver. Since that tour, she has appeared in Philadelphia’s Walnut Street Theater’s Annie, as Bet in Oliver, and is currently in Fiddler on the Roof. She has even performed at the White House.

Josie has done several concert tours, including a tour last summer as the opening act for Disney star Raven, and appearing at Fam Jams! in 2009 with Nat and Alex Wolff of the Naked Brothers Band! Josie is currently working on her first full length CD and co-authoring a new book series. She also wrote a musical movie, Milo J-High, which was picked up by A-Mark Entertainment. When she’s not performing, Josie has a foundation called the “Perfect Day Foundation” that was created to fight bullying in the schools.

THE MOTOWN REVUE PROJECT
The Motown Revue Project is a musical experience revisiting an era of music history  portraying artists on the legendary Motown Record Label.  The Motown Revue Project began in the early 1990’s, originally performed by youth on the Unison TV Kids Cable Show. The project was designed to familiarize youths with legendary artists and the musical Motown style.

The Motown Revue Project strives to educate youth on the history of what is currently known as “the soulful sounds” while promoting group cohesion, cultural sensitivity and awareness among adolescents. The Motown Revue Project is based on the idea that cultural recreational expressions through the arts are important elements for the social development of adolescents and young adults.  The student body of performers hopes to become culturally enriched while enjoying an opportunity to entertain their peers.  In addition, it is hoped that The Motown Revue Project will encourage students and adults to replicate this type of fun in their home, community, and place of worship.
