Jewel Honored To Perform Special Song At Emmy Awards
Jewel says she felt very honored to participate in the 62nd annual Primetime Emmy Awards. During NBC's red carpet carpet coverage before the ceremony the singer told Billy Bush she was pleasantly surprised to not only to get the opportunity to perform at the event, but that she was allowed to sing an unknown song. Jewel performed a track that she's never released called "The Shape of You" during the show's "In Memoriam" segment, which paid tribute to the stars who passed away over the last year.
Jewel said she wrote the song about a friend she lost, and that it's very personal to her. Now that the country star has shared "The Shape of You" with a national TV viewing audience, she's offering it to her fans. She's now making the song available via iTunes. The 62nd annual Primetime Emmy Awards were presented in a ceremony at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles, and aired live on NBC Sunday night. |
