Scott Weiland Denies Lip Synching Rumors
Scott Weiland is addressing rumors of using a backing track at shows. The speculation started last week when the Stone Temple Pilots frontman fell off a stage during their performance, but didn't miss a note while recovering from the fall. During Saturday's performance in Pittsburgh, the vocalist told the crowd, quote, "There has never been a time in the 25-plus years that I have been singing with these guys or a combination of these guys or with other musicians that I have not sang." He also ranted against the person who started the rumor, and called it, quote, "the problem with modern technology, and there are so many great things about it. But that is such a travesty." Weiland added, quote, "We are a rock and roll band. Rock and roll bands perform live."
Stone Temple Pilots are on the road in support of their new, self-titled CD. The band will be in Uncasville, Connecticut Tuesday night.
