In 1972
David Bowie released the song "John, I'm Only Dancing" in the UK. It was another four years before the song was released in the U.S. because of its supposedly gay lyrics.
In 1977
Blondie signed to Chrysalis Records. The company bought their original two albums and recording contract from the independent label Private Stock.
In 1979
U2 released their first EP, "U2-3," in Ireland.
In 1983
The Clash asked Mick Jones to leave the group. Joe Strummer and the other members felt that the guitarist was drifting away from the original concept for the band. Jones soon resurfaced in Big Audio Dynamite.

My Chemical Romance had to cancel dates in Allentown, Pennsylvania and Syracuse, New York because drummer Bob Bryar was hospitalized with a staph infection following treatment for burns he suffered several weeks earlier in a video shoot.
